The ARC Announcement

Given the success of The ARC Activity & Education Centre, we are opening the ARC 2, which will be our Education and Transition Centre, guiding those members from our learning group into supported living and employment. In addition, we will develop two social enterprises, a coffee shop and a print shop. These enterprises will give our members a platform to not only earn a wage but foster those skills needed for successful community integration and associated money management.

The ARC Print Shop is a social enterprise set up for disabled adults. We are a mission-driven business that provides meaningful employment, skill development, and community integration opportunities for individuals with disabilities through the production of printed materials (e.g., t-shirts, posters, signage, business cards). The enterprise operates like a traditional print shop but is distinguished by its social impact focus — prioritizing inclusive hiring practices, personalized training, and supportive work environments. Revenue generated from printing services helps sustain operations and expand programs. This model promotes independence, dignity, and economic participation for disabled adults while offering high-quality products to customers.

The ARC Coffee Shop, run by adults with learning disabilities, is a social enterprise that creates inclusive employment and training opportunities in a welcoming, community-focused environment. While offering high-quality coffee and snacks to customers, the shop empowers individuals with learning disabilities through hands-on experience in customer service, food preparation, and workplace skills. Staff receive tailored support and mentoring, helping them build confidence, independence, and long-term employability. Revenue from the coffee shop supports its mission and helps raise awareness about the abilities and contributions of people with learning disabilities. The model promotes social inclusion, dignity, and meaningful participation in the local economy.

The ARC Education & Transition Centre promotes life skills, community integration, and supported living transition for disabled adults. It is a supportive and empowering environment where individuals with disabilities can develop the practical skills needed for greater independence and personal growth. The centre offers tailored programs in areas such as cooking, personal hygiene, money management, communication, social interaction, and community navigation. Staffed by trained professionals, the centre provides structured learning, hands-on activities, and individual support to build confidence, self-reliance, and quality of life. The goal is to help participants lead more independent, fulfilling lives and foster greater inclusion in their communities.
