About The ARC

Learn about who we are, what we do, and the community at the heart of everything we stand for.

The ARC Reception Area

The ARC was opened in 2019 by parents of young adults with disabilities, who felt the services available did not meet their expectations. They wanted a place that fostered passion, a modern approach to learning, and gave those with disabilities the same opportunities as their peers.

Despite the pandemic and economic downturn, the ARC has gone from strength to strength. We currently support forty-five adults aged nineteen to 65 with varying disabilities and care needs.

The ARC open door policy

In the years we have been open we have always offered an open-door policy for parents, carers and those that advocate or provide support to our members. If you are entrusting us with the care of your special one, then you have the right to observe them at any given time.

In 2022 we were visited by the Quality Assurance Framework, a team selected by adult social care to assess current disability provisions. Following on from the visit we received an outstanding award for the services we provide — a testament to how lived experience of disability is advantageous in delivering care.

The ARC

This is just the beginning. With further developments planned for 2026, we are committed to expanding our reach and creating even more opportunities for the people we support. Our ambition has always been simple — to give every individual the chance to thrive, grow, and play a full part in their community.
