These ten principles underpin everything we do at The ARC. They guide how we support our members, develop our services and grow as a community — putting independence, inclusion and individuality at the heart of all we do.

- Skill Development — teaching life skills such as cooking, cleaning, personal care and monetary management.
- Decision-Making — encouraging individuals to make choices and take control of their own lives.

- Community Integration — facilitating opportunities to engage with the community through events, outings and volunteer work.
- Social Skills — providing activities that promote the development of social skills and relationships.

- Physical Health — offering programmes that include exercise, nutrition education and access to healthcare services.
- Mental Health — providing support through counselling, therapy and activities that reduce stress and promote emotional wellbeing.

- Self-Advocacy — teaching participants how to advocate for their own rights and needs.
- Community Awareness — working to raise awareness and promote inclusion within the broader community.

- Respite Care — offering respite services to give families and caregivers a much-needed break.
- Family Education — providing resources and education to families to better support their loved ones.

Ensure Continuous Improvement
- Feedback Mechanisms — regularly gathering and acting on feedback from participants and their families.
- Staff Training — continuously training staff to improve the quality of care and services provided.
